I am writing a movie review blog. I want my blog to look more or less like a website in which my address is linked to a main page. then there are links on the main page for genres of movies. you click a genre and it brings you to a page like action page, comedy page, etc. on each genre page will be a movie review link. click on the movie link and you get the review. how would i do that?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You create a static front page. http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/
Then you follow these instructions prepared by Staff > http://en.support.wordpress.com/using-wordpress-to-create-a-website/Setting aesthetics aside, static front pages are a traffic killer. Returning visitors don’t dig clicking through a static page. They come to read posts. A WordPress blog can either be structured as a page based website or its conventional post based structure can be retained. That’s why understanding the differences between posts and pages is key to decision making when selecting a theme, and setting up your WordPress.com blog Please read Better Blogging at WordPress.com: Pages and Posts as structuring a blog based on aesthetics and having a static front page may not be the choice you want to make.

Use the More Tag aggressively or Excerpts so your visitors see only the first line or three of your reviews, they can click on the tag if they want to see the whole Review – your visitors will see your fresh Reviews when they visit not some dull click here if I want a horror movie review – but then they would have to click a lot of times to find the new reviews – that would last exactly 1/2 visit for me and I would be gone gone gone

I’m with you. I visit a blog with a static front page only once — then I am gone, gone, forever gone.
