    Hi there, we recently noticed our account was cancelled due to an expired credit card. We have updated the payment details. Could you please advise how we go about making our website active again please. Kind regards, Jess Hadley, Bluff Point Primary School ~ Ph: [redacted]

    Hi there,

    You can renew your domain from the Purchases page (https://wordpress.com/me/purchases/). On that page, select the domain and click on the Renew Now link at the bottom.

    Please note that this upgrade has been purchased by a different user on the site (@deirdrebaxter), so they are the only ones that can renew it.

    I’m copying over your replies from the other thread you created:

    As per your email below, Deirdre Baxter is no longer with this organisation and we are unable to access the account to reset the password.

    Domains belong to the individual who registered it, and only the account that owns a domain has the ability to renew, or otherwise make any changes to the domain. We cannot under any circumstances renew a domain at the request of someone who doesn’t own it.

    The simplest solution here will be to contact Deirdre, and ask her to transfer the domain, as well as ownership of the site itself, to another admin. You can find the steps to do that here:

    Alternatively, if that’s not possible, you can try our account recovery process to gain access to the other account, but we’ll only be able to give you access if you’re able to provide verification of ownership, and even then there might be a waiting period before we’re able to release the domain into your control.

    We don’t provide phone support on WordPress.com.

    The two options I mentioned above are the only two possibilities for you to gain control over a domain that belongs to another WordPress.com account.
