Website management

    Hi there!

Years ago, I enlisted the help of a developer to build a site under my name – although I can’t for the life of me figure out a way to login to my website (cadymacon.com) to edit/manage it.

The page was run by the user ‘wpadmin’ – which is not a username I personally own.

Can you please assist? Let me know what verifications/credentials/etc you need from me to get this moved over. I had no clue it’d be this complicated!

    Cady

  • Hi Cady,

Your site is not hosted on WordPress.com, so we cannot help with this. The credentials for that site’s admin user has no connection to your WordPress.com account, but is stored in your site’s database on your hosting provider’s servers. We don’t have any access there to help you reset it.

You can see the password reset instructions for your version of WordPress at https://wordpress.org/support/article/resetting-your-password/

For more help with this you’ll have to contact the hosting provider for the site instead, as you’d need access to the site database to reset the credentials, and you’ll need access to the hosting account itself for that.

It looks like cadymacon.com is hosted by Bluehost.com.
