  I’d like to migrate my website to Bluehost and attach it to an already exciting domain name. Is it possible to migrate everything including subscribers and comments?

  Hi there,

  Yes it is possible to export your content (including blog posts and comments) to any other WordPress site. We have a guide here you can follow: https://wordpress.com/support/export/

  One limitation of moving in this way is that your content (pages, blog posts, comments, uploaded media, etc.) will transfer, but your theme design and customizations cannot be transferred in this way. This is due to the fact that we use a customized version of WordPress for better performance, and our themes are not compatible with the open-source version of WordPress used with other hosting providers.

  Also you do have the option to upgrade your WordPress.com site to our Business Plan, which will give you the ability to upload plugins and themes, customize your site without limitation, access source code via FTP, etc.

  Essentially this would give your WordPress.com site the same capabilities you would have with Bluehost, but with the security and stability of our managed hosting and in-house support. You can also connect your existing domain under any of our plans as well, so your site would not need to stick to using the current “wordpress.com” address.
