Website Migration Issue
-
Trying to move out of wordpress and went through the transfer process ~2 weeks ago. For some reason the new website works for ‘www.domain.com’ but if you omit the ‘www.’ and only use ‘domain.com’ then it still directs to the wordpress site.
What am I missing?

Hi there!
It may be a propagation issue if you’ve recently made changes as it can take up to 72 hours to propagate globally. Currently the A records for the root domain (leoleotheband.com) still point to WordPress.com IP addresses as shown here: https://www.whatsmydns.net/#A/leoleotheband.com
You’d need to add the necessary A records for the root domain for your new hosting provider. Currently only the A/CNAME for www is pointing to them as shown here:
https://www.whatsmydns.net/#A/www.leoleotheband.com
The domain is also still using WordPress.com nameservers so all of the DNS records are managed on WordPress.com as shown here:
https://www.whatsmydns.net/#NS/leoleotheband.com
If you’re moving entirely away from WordPress, you may want to consider changing the nameservers to your new host’s and manage the DNS records on their end instead. The following guide details how to add custom nameservers if you go that route: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/change-name-servers/#changing-name-servers-to-point-away-from-word-press-com
