Website missing and fail to change settings

I have trouble logging into my wordpress website. I get the following error message: ‘There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.’ The instructions in the e-mail did not work either. And now – when logging into my wordpress user account – the pages of my existing webpage are not there anymore.
