When I log on to my WordPress account it comes linked to another apparently inactive blog (venicewalkstreets.wordpress.com) that has nothing to do with me.
    My account is theblueone.wordpress.com

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I do not know if I have two WP accounts. I cannot seem to find out from WP. When I use my email as my user name, it deflects to susandworski and to the venicewalkstreets WP account. When I use my info that allows me to access my website via http://theblueone.com/wp-login.php using username Susan and my PW, it takes me to the correct account.
It is when I try and access my account directly via the WP url that I get the wrong website.

Thanks for the added details. They will be useful to Staff. Please be patient while waiting for their help.

    Hi there,

I found the account under the username: theblueone and it doesn’t have the site that you mention, so I’m assuming that’s someone else’s account.

I took a look into yours and did find exactly what you stated. The site: venicewalkstreets.wordpress.com is in this account. You were added as a Contributor on that site. Take a look here for further information on user roles:

    User Roles

As for the site: theblueone.wordpress.com, that does not exist. We don’t have a site under that URL. Can you see if it could be something else?

Well, I cannot believe that someone else has an account theblueone, but it may be possible. Perhaps many years ago I opened a WP account thinking I would build a new website and then never did anything with it? I did redesign my original site in 2014 using the same url, http://www.theblueone.com.

When I log on to http://theblueone.com/wp-login.php I can access my website and make changes, etc. Does that not mean that I have a WP account? It must exist. You can check http://www.theblueone.com, my website.

I really need to sort this out since I need to make changes on my website and cannot do so without the correct user name and password.
I’m caught in a weird catch 22 that I cannot resolve myself without your help.

If you can give me a new user name and PW for the account that links to theblueone.com, and delete susandworski from venicewalkstreets blog would that solve this problem?

Please note that is a WordPress.org site. To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities. At WordPress.com, we provide hosting, support, and tons of features for blogs. Users also have the option to purchase a variety of upgrades to customize the look and feel of their blog. WordPress.org is a software for self-hosted sites. With WordPress.org, users are provided access to all backend files and can upload custom themes and plugins.

Check here to learn more about the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org:

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

This means that you don’t have a WordPress.com site. You have a site hosted by: DNS-DIY.NET and you can see this here:

    https://who.wildwestdomains.com/whoisstd.aspx?domain=theblueone.com&prog_id=wildwestdomains

At this time it would be best to contact your host regarding this as they would be able to sort this out for you.

Thanks for this clarification. Since I’m not a programmer I was unaware of the .com/.org difference. Since it isn’t indicated on my login, http://theblueone.com/wp-login.php, I would have no way of knowing this.

I can’t figure out how to extricate myself from the venicewalkstreets.com blog, but since it’s inactive, perhaps it’s best to let sleeping dogs lie. If you can cancel me out of this, please do and let me know.

    Thanks. Susan
