  Hello, I want to pay $17 to change the domain to my own existing domain name.
  Could you please advise how I can process this? Whenever I check out it keeps charging me $120 for a plan I do not need.

  If you own a domain already elsewhere that you wish to use on a WordPress.com site then you do need a paid plan (a Personal plan would do) to transfer or map that domain.

  To use a custom domain on your WordPress.com site, you need to have a paid plan. You can check out our plans and pricing here: https://wordpress.com/plans

  Once you have a paid plan, you can register a new domain or transfer an existing one to WordPress.com. You can also connect a domain without transferring it to us. However, a paid plan is a must before you can use your own domain.

  I see that you had the WordPress.com Premium plan on your site briefly. You can upgrade to Premium (or any other plan that suits the needs of your site) and follow any of the steps below to use your own domain with your WordPress.com site.
