Website Name

I began trying to create a website and realized it was too much for me. A friend who is already using WordPress offered to create it for me. Unfortunately the name emfawaresc.wordpress.com wasn’t available because I had already used it for this website that I decided to abandon. I’m wondering if there is some way for me to transfer this name over to the website she has just created. I thought that if I deleted this site, maybe that would work – but then I saw that this name can never be used again if I do that. I wish I had thought of this sooner. Any ideas. It’s not that big a deal as I will be pointing my domain name to the new site anyway. Just wondering. Thanks for your help.

Yes, you may easily transfer your site to her account, if it’s a WordPress.com account, but it won’t be replacing a site she’s already created. However, since she “just” created it perhaps that won’t be an issue. To transfer the site, just follow the instructions in the Transfer a Site to Another WordPress.com Account support page.

What I would I would prefer to do is transfer the site she created yesterday over to my account, and then somehow change that site name to the name I already created (which is exactly the same except for one number).
The site I created is blank, but has the correct name. The one she created has the content I want, but the wrong name.
It seems like there should be an easy way to do this. I am happy to lose the blank site I created two days ago, but want to somehow keep the name and paste it over the name on the site my friend created for me.

What is the URL of the newly created site?
It may be easier to redirect emfawaresc.wordpress.com to another site, rather than transfer, but let’s see where the new site is hosted so that we can determine next steps. :)

Thank you so much for your help. I decided to change to a simpler site address, which is available and made that change on the new site. I will just delete the old site.
