website name in use by inactive blog user

  Someone is using the name I want to use and they have not made an active post since 2008, is there a way we can try to contact the blog owner and see if they’re willing to disband their blog or change the name so I can use it? tiffanydanielle.wordpress.com

  I know this will be something that blurb will have to help me with, I’m sure, is there a way to contact them?

  How good of a detective are you? WordPress.COM totally respects the privacy of a blog owner. You will need to find the owner yourself, try leaving a comment on the blog or see if there is a contact form, or maybe they have set up another site that is not on WordPress.COM that you can find and contact them through.

  WordPress.COM will not take a blog away from an owner just for non use

  In the case that there is no contact information or you do not receive a comment response Staff will not breach the privacy policy and provide you with an email address.

  If you are not successful, you can register another blog with a similar name. http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/

  Or you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade and it will not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is.
