Website not found by search engines!

My website has been up for just over a week but if one tries to search for it on any of the main search engines – Google, Bing, etc it does not appear among any of the results. Can anyone help me find out why that is please? Otherwise I have a website that nobody else visits!

It takes a couple of weeks before search engines display new sites. To explain how this works: Google’s robots (and other search engines) “crawl” the web daily looking for new content. When they find a new site, it takes a little while for it to be displayed properly when searched for by people. Note that you can help search engines find you by submitting your new site to their indexation services. Google, for example, has a tool called “Search Console” which allows you to submit your site: https://search.google.com/search-console/welcome
