  • Actually, the domain that you have with us is http://pawventures.net/

I do have pawventures.net, but we don’t use it. I also have http://www.pawventures.com and we cannot access it. I copied this info from Pipe DNS

    Domain pawventures.com
    Registered On 18th Nov ’10
    Expires On 18th Nov ’12
    Current DNS ns1.wordpress.com
    ns3.wordpress.com
    ns2.wordpress.com

What I don’t understand is that is supposed to expired in Nov 2012, but some how it stopped this November. I need to renew the mapping ASAP and I have no idea how.

    Thanks,

    Opai

  • We don’t have any record of pawventures.com ever being registered or mapped with us.

I recommend contacting your domain registrar about this.

Thank you for looking into this. Is it possible our website goes through wordpress.org?

We definitely used wordpress to create our website. Additionally, we used Just Host for the Domain Registration. They have told us to contact wordpress. We could use any guidance you may have as our site is essential for our business.

    Thank you!

  • It’s definitely not a blog on WordPress.com, so must be a self-hosted WordPress.org blog, which we really can’t help with.

To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities.

WordPress.org has complete support and documentation sites for self-hosted/installed versions of WordPress via their Codex and Support Forums.

    Thank you so very much!

Thank you so much for helping with this issue, I really appreciate.

I’m aware about the two different entities, but what throws me off is that the mapping information says:
    ns1.wordpress.com
    ns3.wordpress.com
    ns2.wordpress.com

There is no support staff on wordpress.org I can ask to renew the mapping. I found a guide how to renew the mapping but I have to do it from the dashboard, place I cannot access to.

Do you think I might work if I try to map it from scratch, like when I did it one year ago?

    Thanks again,

    Opai

  • WordPress.org is something that you install on a hosting provider. There’s no such thing as mapping or other paid upgrades, just the domain that gets directed to your hosting provider where you have installed WordPress.

I’m not sure why the nameservers are pointing to us, but we have no record of that domain ever being mapped here.

Could someone have hacked the website? We are 100% sure we used wordpress. According to the who.is we are with you wordpress.com:

    Registrar: ENOM, INC.
    Whois Server: whois.enom.com
    Referral URL: http://www.enom.com
    Status: OK

    Expiration Date: 2012-11-18
    Creation Date: 2010-11-18
    Last Update Date: 2011-12-05

    Name Servers:
    ns1.wordpress.com
    ns2.wordpress.com
    ns3.wordpress.com
    See pawventures.com DNS Records

We registered the domain name with just host and then mapped it to wordpress where we created our website. Does wordpress.org do mapping?

  • That just means that the nameservers are pointed to us, which has nothing to do with us.

There’s no record of that domain ever being mapped here. Maybe you changed the nameservers and never mapped it. Looking at the Google cache for it, it appears to have been a self-hosted WordPress.org blog. In this case, I recommend contacting whoever you hosted the blog with. It wasn’t us.

The only domain that you have ever mapped here is http://pawventures.net/

WordPress.org is just software that you install on your hosting provider. There is no mapping, it’s just software, and you change the nameserver to point the domain to your hosting provider.

  • Just a thought, but maybe JustHost is your hosting provider?

OK. Thanks again and we’ll try knocking on wordpress.org’s door.
