website not working
-
Hello, I have been trying for several days on how to re access my website. I was downloading a theme and when I activated it I was locked out and was not able to log back in. Then I read articles and was told to get into the wp-config.php file and to switch line 80 from false to true, i did and now this shows up when trying to log in:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘define’ (T_STRING) in /home/jsperez2/public_html/wp-config.php on line 80
I need help! All I want to do is to get back into my website dashboard and have my website back! please and thanks!

This is a forum for sites hosted here at WordPress.com. We don’t have access to files such as our wp-config files. You are using a version of WordPress hosted elsewhere.
This describes the differences between the 2 versions of WordPress:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/The support forum for that version of WordPress is at

Hope you get it sorted out.

let me clarify;
I edit my website using wordpress.com like when i log in i do the who wp-admin deal…but it is hosted through my school.
basically my main problem is:
I pay for my own domain through a small orange
my school hosts my website
i use wordpress.com to edit my websitei for some reason cannot log in my website, there is an error and it is all jacked up.
Is there any way possible that I can just reset EVERYTHING so when I try to log in my website it is back to default settings just like day 1 when i first created this website.
I don’t even care if everything was deleted from my previous website. I just want to log in, recreate my website and have my site up and running once again!
please please please help!

when I try to log on my domain.com/wp-admin
this shows up:
Not Found
The requested URL /wp-admin/ was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

It sounds as though your site is not hosted at WordPress.com but that you are using the WordPress.com front end to edit it perhaps via jetpack.
Can you share your site address? I am going to tag this as Modlook to get a moderator to help sort this out for you and give you the best path to getting support for your issue and having that site address will help them do that.

You are definitely not a WordPress.com site.
Read the document at WordPress.com and org.
https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/Is there any support available from your school since they set this up?
Have you tried to get into your site without using the WordPress.com front end?
And are you able to access your files on the backend – like the wp-config file you mentioned earlier?
You might also post your question on the WordPress.org forums while waiting for the moderator here.

Hi there,
I can also confirm that your site is indeed self-hosted. As it’s not on our servers, we’re not able to help you with this problem.
The best place to get help with this is the self-hosted WordPress forums:
https://wordpress.org/support/
I also suggest you try contacting your hosting provider, which is A Small Orange, in this case. They might be able to help you.
