website not working properly on iPad (2012 theme)

My website does not work correctly on my iPad. While I can access the parent level menus, I cannot access the child menus (they disappear when I try to click on them). Also, the theme itself (twenty-twelve) does not seem to display properly, even though it is, I believe, listed as one of the responsive themes. Thanks.

    Hi there,

It doesn’t look like you have a custom menu setup . Can you try building a custom menu as explained here?

That should help with the parent and child menu items.

Regarding the theme, it’s displaying correctly on my side when viewed from an iPad Mini as shown here:

Can you let me know what you mean by “not displaying properly”?

    Hi —

For whatever reason, the site now looks okay on my iPad (when I first wrote, not displaying properly = hyphenation of headings, etc.; inability to see width of page in the narrower format).

But: If I build custom menus, does that mean I have to undo everything I have already done and redo every item? Why would I need custom menus if the theme I’ve chosen is responsive, and if I’m using the normal parent/child menu functions? (I took only a quick look at the link you sent, as I’m about to go into a conference call.) Thanks.

    Hi Rhea!

No need to undue everything you’ve already done. The theme does build a menu when you create new pages. Every new page is automatically added and child pages are nested as submenus under parent pages.

The Custom Menu is just a way of building the menu so that you can choose where pages are displayed and when they are added. I tested the theme with a custom menu, and the submenu pages worked correctly. I’d like to see if you experience the same results on your side. Could you give these instructions a try?
