website or blog?

  Hi there, i’m a bit confused. I want to create a website with multiple pages, but when I go to create new site I can create a blog, not website. So, is the blog a website, or blog? :-(

  Every day we get new people who do not understand that a blog is a website posting here. This is all semantics and blog structure.

  A blog is a post based website designed for interactive communication. As the posts are frequently updated and appear on the front page of the site it’s very attractive to search engines.

  What most people call a website is merely a page based site that functions as a one way noticeboard. As the structure is page based and as pages are for static content that rarely changes, and as pages do not have RSS feeds it is not as attractive to search engines as a post based blog structured site is.

You can create themes, upload and install themes and plugins, run ads, and edit the database, etc. If you want FTP access and to install plugins or third party themes into a site then you will have to hire a web host http://wordpress.org/hosting/ and set up your own WordPress.org install.

  Hello everyone,
  I also have the same problem over here I guess, can anyone please help and tell me how to transform my blog into a website, because I have created a page named blog for that function, but my home page looks like a blog with multiple pages. I would like to remove from my pages : The “Comments” panel or “Like” etc… just like a real website or should i change the theme?
