Website outage

The company that built and was hosting my website (S2N Designs) went out of business without warning leaving us with no way to access our data. We had an account to make updates to the account using this url: https://unitedhomeins.com/wp-login.php?checkemail=confirm, but it is down now too. Please advise on what steps need to be taken to recover our website. Thank you!

    WP.com: Unknown
    Jetpack: Yes

  • Hi,

Do you have a backup of your site? If not, there is likely nothing that can be done if your host has truly gone out of business. The data existed on their servers, and if those servers are gone….so is your data, I’m afraid.

    Hi,

Since your website was not hosted with WordPress.com, unfortunately, we can’t really assist you with restoring your removed content either. Only your own web hosting company can help you with this, but if they didn’t make a backup (and neither did you) of the website before it was deleted, that means your content is sadly lost forever.

As a last resort, in case neither you nor the web hosting provider made any backups, I found a cached version of the website on the Wayback Machine: https://web.archive.org/web/20221024150643/http://www.unitedhomeins.com/ – You could use this to manually copy your content and recreate your website at a new hosting company.

I’d advise you to start a new website hosted with WordPress.com, your content will never get removed here, even if your subscription expires. You can learn more about working with WordPress.com here: https://wordpress.com/support/start/

You can start a new website from the pricing page: https://wordpress.com/pricing/
