Website ownership, change
-
I have purchased the Olde Millworks business, in it’s entirety to include all of the web assets. I now need access to the back end of the website to take ownership, make edits. What are the steps necessary to do so?

Hi there, was the website hosted here on WordPress.com, or is it built using the WordPress software (from WordPress.org) and hosted with a different company?
If the former – the previous owner could invite your WordPress.com account to manage the site, and then transfer ownership:
- https://en.support.wordpress.com/transferring-a-site-to-another-wordpress-com-account/
- https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/transfer-a-domain-to-another-wordpress-com-account/
If the site is hosted with another company, I would strongly recommend contacting that company (and potentially also the previous owner) in order to receive the credentials you need.
To clarify, there are two ways to use WordPress, you can either use the WordPress software downloaded from WordPress.org onto a web host (also known as self-hosted), or you may host your site with us here at WordPress.com.
