Website page not opening

You can’t get there from here (site_id mismatch error).

This happens when an external blog (a self-hosted blog using the Jetpack plugin) is pointed to WordPress.com by DNS.

If you are trying to migrate away from WordPress.com, please update your DNS to point the domain to your own server.

Otherwise please contact WordPress.com support and explain what you were trying to do, what steps you took, what you expected to happen, and what actually happened.

    WP.com: Yes

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there, could you let us know the URL of the site you’re having trouble with?

  • Unknown's avatar
  • Thanks! It appears that your domain has been pointed towards the WordPress.com name servers, but it seems that the Personal plan which was associated with your site expired on 11 November 2022 (around two months ago) and it was not renewed. Because of that, the plan and connection with your domain were removed.

Were you intending to continue hosting your site here on WordPress.com? If so, then you can of course re-add the Personal plan, and also reconnect your domain. This is the information regarding the Personal plan:

And we do have a guide to help you reconnect dosahouse.gr to your site here:
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/connect-existing-domain/

    Thanks for your reply.

I added personal plan back. However, when I am trying to connect, it is asking me Auth code to make sure I am the owner of the domain.

When I am giving that Auth code, I am getting an error stating “Incorrect auth code provided for ownership verification”. However, this is the code I am getting at registrar website in my Domain setting.

What to do to connect my domain?

  • Normally you should not need an auth code when connecting the domain! The auth code is specifically needed when transferring a domain registration from one provider to another; but the connection process does not do this. When starting to connect your domain, are you selecting the “connect” option as in the guide above, instead of “transfer”?

There’s more information about the difference between them here:
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-connection-vs-domain-transfer/

Yes, I am using the Connect option. Did not use transfer. I am not trying to transfer the domain. It is asking for Auth code prob due to .gr? dosahouse.gr

Is there a backend team who can help on this? It has been long and website is down.

  • Hi there,

I checked your account, and you connected the domain netim.com to the domain connection subscription you purchased, not dosahouse.gr. Please confirm that it is dosahouse.gr you wanted to be connected, and I will remove netim.com for you so that can connect dosahouse.gr instead.

    Thanks!

Hi There, Yes, It would be dosahouse.gr

I tried with Netim just to see if it works as this is the registrar.

However, I need to connect dosahouse.gr

It still does not allow me to connect and ask for Auth code.

    Thanks for your help.

  • Hi there,

Thanks for clarifying. On our end I have manually re-added the domain connection for dosahouse.gr and it appears to be working correctly. What I see:

Note that if you do not see this you may need to clear your browser cache and cookies, as your computer can store an out-of-date view that does not reflect the fact that the domain is connected now.

Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.

I see that up and running.

Thanks you very much for help.
