Website possibly hacked.

How can I actually speak with someone from WordPress customer support?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’ve never heard of a WordPress.com site being hacked unless login details were revealed. Perhaps you aren’t talking about https://terrishale.wordpress.com/. That site loads ok but hasn’t been updated for five years. What is the address of the WordPress.com site you are having problems with? If you have an unnamed site hosted elsewhere then I’m afraid WordPress.com staff won’t have access to it.

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

The site is terrihalebooks.com. I’ve been using GoDaddy and contacted them first with the problem. They checked it out and said my hosting had been changed on a certain date this year from them to wordpress, which I never did, and I would need to contact wordpress. And none of my posts since 2013 are showing. I’m just trying to find out who is hosting my site right now and how did this happen.

    Domain Name: TERRIHALEBOOKS.COM
    Updated Date: 2018-03-16T14:32:03Z
    Creation Date: 2012-03-16T03:36:54Z
    Registrar: GoDaddy.com, LLC
    Name Server: NS61.DOMAINCONTROL.COM
    Name Server: NS62.DOMAINCONTROL.COM

You are right that http://terrihalebooks.com/ shows the same content as your WordPress.com site. I always assumed that Domain Control servers were owned by GoDaddy. I have added the modlook tag to ask a member of WordPress.com staff to reply to you.

Thanks so much for your help!

Hi @terrishale, first off, let me put your mind at ease, you were not hacked.

You originally were hosted here at WordPress.com and using http://terrishale.wordpress.com/, which is still on your account here and still active on the internet. When you went to self-hosted at Godaddy, you didn’t set your site here to Private, or delete it, so you do have two sites with the exact same content.

    You have two options.

    1. Go to My Sites at the top left of this page which will take you into the control panel for your site here. Then click on Settings toward the bottom and under Privacy, select to set the site to Private. https://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/

    2. Delete your old site as explained here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/

I would suggest #1 as that means you have a backup of your content safely here on WordPress.com, but no one but you will have access to it or can see it.

If you moved to GoDaddy 5 years ago there is still the matter of:

And none of my posts since 2013 are showing

    . ???

Okay, I’ve set the original to private, but as themagicrobot mentioned my GoDaddy site shows nothing posted since 2013, and they say it is being hosted by wordpress and not them since March of this year. Is there a way for to find out if my terrihalebooks.com sight is being hosted by wordpress now? I still have the same problem I started with. Who the heck is hosting my sight and how did this happen? And where are all my posts since 2013? I’ll recontact GoDaddy and try again with them, also.

I would contact Godaddy about the missing posts and see if they can restore your site and recover those posts. I’m not sure what happened with that, but they should be able to investigate things for you. Since we have no connection to your self-hosted site, we can’t really do anything from here.

You can also try posting at https://wordpress.org/support/ to see if anyone else has run into this issue.

WordPress.com and WordPress.org are separate, so if you do not already have an account at WordPress.org, you will need to register.
