website problem

I need to put off line my website. I already know that i need to go to settings and then select ‘private’, the problem is that i dont have the ‘private’ option. Only have public and hide option. How do i put private?

(1) local installs of wordpress.ORG software on your own server or

WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. As you are referring to a site that is not hosted here, if you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right-hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.

This website its not from WordPress.org. That is why i posted here, because all settings website are here in WordPress.com. I really need to take it off on line.

Hi @hyhcarcavelos, which site are you working with? The one you have listed here is connected through Jetpack Manage, but it is not hosted at WordPress.com, so its settings won’t all be the same.
If you have a WordPress.org site that you’d like to make private, there are plugins for that.

Okay, helpyourselfhostels.com is hosted at Bluehost.
You have it connected to WordPress.com via Jetpack manage, which you can use like a web app for writing posts and pages and looking at stats. However this does not mean it is a WordPress.com hosted site.
Bluehost could help you make the site private, or you could look for a maintenance page plugin.
