  Hello,

  I keep getting an email from what looks like a WordPress email address about renewing my domain (see email below). However, my domain is purchased through GoDaddy, though I do operate my website using WordPress. Can you please help me understand what this email from WordPress is about, and what steps (if any) I should be taking? Thanks!

  We were attempting to renew the domain mapping for matthewbrett.ca

  Hi there, that email specifically mentions the domain mapping upgrade which connected your GoDaddy domain to your WordPress.com website.

  However, it looks like you are now hosting your website with another hosting provider? If that is the case, you wouldn’t need to renew domain mapping here.

  Hi there!

  As @justjennifer mentioned already, the subscription that’s about to expire is for connecting your domain to WordPress.com. If you’ve moved your site to a new host, it’s safe to let the Domain Connection expire or directly cancel it.
  To cancel, though, you’ll need to log into the account you used to purchase that subscription. Log out from matthewbrett84 and log back in using the email address to which the notification was sent.
