website redirecting

First, my site doesn’t show up in my wordpress.coms ‘My Site’. When I try to add my site it says it’s already there. When I click on wp dashboard link to get to my acouunt it gives me this https://colormegorgeous.net/404.html website not found. with a red line through the https:// portion. It should not be https:// it should be http://. Somehow the url got changed. I didn’t do it.

There is no ssl for blogs on custom domains and it is not possible to enable HTTPS on them. Remove the “s” from the https:// URL please and use http://

Please see the HTTPS support page.
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/

Note that SSL certificates need to be signed to a specific domain, and WordPress.COM cannot provide certificates for mapped domains at this time, so our certificate is signed for WordPress.com. That may result in browser warnings if you access your custom domain at https:// instead of the HTTP version. The developers who are working on this hope to have HTTPS support for all WordPress.com users in the future but no other details are available at this time.

I know that they don’t use them. But the problem is somewhere somehow, it got changed and and I can’t fix it. The https:// problem is now gone. But Now when I try to open my website it just has a 505 error message with Host Gater on the page. It keeps changing on me. ugh!
I do have a support ticket in to Host Gator. I hope they can fix it for me because I don’t know how. My biggest problem now is that I can’t get into WP admin to work on my website. I don’t know why.

I have the same problem with one of my blogs on WordPress.com. Even when I am signed out of WordPress and use different browsers, the site is only accessible through https and not http and shows a warning about the connection not being private. I am worried this will cause visitors to leave my site and I would like to fix it as soon as possible, but don’t know how to. I have two blogs on WordPress.com, both set up the same with custom domains, but for some reason only one of my sites is affected like this: soul-destruction.com

I got mine fixed. I had iThemes security plugin and had clicked on the Ssl button when I shouldn’t have. See if you’ve done something similar. I had to have Host Gator do it for me. Hope it works for you.

Thanks jnettlebeck. I think it’s a WordPress issue though as I’ve noticed the security certificate displayed on my site is for another WordPress site: soufrazeta.com. It’s very strange and very worrying and I hope WordPress get in touch with me to resolve this as I still haven’t heard anything from them.

I use wordpress hosted by Host Gator and I had to call Host Gator to fix my issues with a wordpress issue. I had two things going on at the same time. One was the SSL being clicked on on my WP plugin, and also, I got locked out of my WP admin page so I couldn’t go in and fix the SSL issue myself. But Host Gator was able to fix both for me. You might want to contact your hosting site. You won’t hear from WP, they rely on others helping others in their forums. Very frustration that you can’t contact them directly. Good Luck.

  • I am not having trouble accessing your site from http://soul-destruction.com/ or https://soul-destruction.com/.

Are you still seeing this issue?

I am in one browser but I’ve been in correspondence with support over email during the last few days so hopefully it will be resolved.
