Website redirection – loss of domains

  • Unknown's avatar

    Good morning

It seems that two of the domains listed below are still facing an issue and not redirecting as we wish them to.

    http://www.nurseryfreshwholesaleflowers.com
    http://www.bridalflowersdirect.com

Could you advise if this is down to an error in the redirection and transfer of domain or if this is tied to a package upgrade being required with WordPress.

Thanks for reaching out! I’ve taken a look on my end and it appears both domains have been transferred to https://www.enom.com/

We/I requested the URL/Domain transfer so that I can market my new website and this was done easily 3 weeks ago and now I’m being directed that my URL has been lost and is tied to another provider which is asking me to bid for the domains.. please advise and ultimately rectify as I’m not sure how this has ended up like this when all I did was follow the steps provided to transfer a domain to my own provider to allow me to re-direct any traffic.

    Thanks

    WP.com: Yes
    Correct account: Yes

  • Both domain registrations were transferred away from us.

Would you please clarify: Do you want them to direct to sites here at WordPress.com, or to WordPress sites hosted elsewhere?

We wish them to be redirected to host a WordPress site hosted elsewhere

  • @nurseryfresh, your new host should have name servers you can use, and you should then be able to update the settings at enom. Can you ask your host and enom for help with that?

Then it’s just a matter of waiting for internet servers to notice the switch (usually a few hours).

If you would also like to redirect the old WordPress.com sites to the new site, you can do that too. To redirect bridalflowersdirect.wordpress.com to the new http://bridalflowersdirect.com/ for example, you’d add a site redirect here:
    https://wordpress.com/domains/add/site-redirect/

Just be sure the site works at its new host first.
