  We’re trying to renew the domain for our website but it will not allow me (the treasurer for the fraternity) to pay to renew it because it gives an error stating that a different user purchased it so they must renew it themselves. How do I go about doing it if the original user is long gone from the fraternity?

  Hi there,

  The best bet to regain access to the domain is to reach out to the previous owner and see if they are willing to relinquish ownership of the upgrade. If they give consent, we can transfer the domain over to you.

  The domain has another year before it expired, so you have to get it over to your account. if you would like, I can e-mail the address on the account and see if I can get in touch with the owner.
