    How can i retrieve my old blog website on Word Press that expired earlier this year? I used an external hosting domain.

    Hi there!

    To avoid confusion, there are three different “WordPress” at play here:

    1. The free, open-source WordPress software which powers your website.
    2. WordPress.org which is the open-source project that works on the WordPress software and where you can get the software for free to use on your own hosting provider.
    3. WordPress.com which is a managed hosting provider of the WordPress software and with whom you’re contacting now.

    Since your site was not previously hosted here at WordPress.com, we’re limited to what we can help with – but I can try to get you pointed in the right direction.

    It looks like your site may have been hosted at HostGatory – you should check with them to see if they still have a backup of your site – most hosting companies purge that data once you stop paying for hosting, so hopefully they still do in this case. If you made a full site and database backup, you should be able to restore that content to a new WordPress install.
