Website Security – malware
-
Hello,
I have had a WordPress site for about a year now. For the past 4 months or so it has been infected with malware. If I switch to a paid WP site, will you guys be able to clear the Malware?I don’t actually make money with the website yet so I am on a small budget.
Thanks,

rossviviano thanks for the response. I’m not really comfortable just giving out my website on a forum. Do you know if there is anyway to actually get ahold of WordPress support? I’ve tried but it seems impossible.

Is your site hosted here at WordPress.com? Or is it hosted somewhere else (Bluehost, Go Daddy, etc)? My guess is that your site isn’t hosted here. If you aren’t sure go to http://www.whoishostingthis.com/ and put in the URL of your site.

Since these are the support forums for WordPress.com, and you have the self- hosted WordPress.org version, there isn’t much that we can do for you here. You can read about the differences between .com and .org here:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
Try posting your question in the WordPress.org support forums, or contacting Deluxe directly for help. You will need to create a new profile to post in the WordPress.org forums.
Good luck!

Well what would make me think I could get help if I had the WP .com ? I’m not against doing that if I believed it would help.

Hi Jeff,
WordPress.com is different from WordPress.org. On this forum, we can only really help with people having issues with sites hosted at WordPress.com. On the WordPress.org forums, they can help with sites that are hosted elsewhere (like yours).

Well I had hoped to talk with someone with WordPress.com about the benefits of joining. Right now I don’t know the difference and I don’t feel it would be much different. Considering, no one has reached out to sell me on wordpress.com, I find it hard to believe it will be much different.
