  Here’s some info on setting up only static pages as a website: https://en.support.wordpress.com/using-wordpress-to-create-a-website/

  However, keep in mind that the Posts page is the best way for sharing news of upcoming events and the like.

  @shobertvartan1-thanks for that info. Those links would be relevant if the site in question is using the standalone WP software, but not for sites hosted by WordPress.com.

  pay no attention to the spammy and way wrong links by @shobertvartan1 – they are not for WordPress.COM sites

  @justjennifer it looks like @shobertvartan1 is spamming – they have the same links in all the answers in the forum – the codex link would be OK if we were at WordPress.ORG – but the other links look like spam to me
