Hi, I had purchased a Starter plan and select my own domain, but when I access to my website, it shows 403 forbidden. What should I do?
Besides, can you hep me to refund for my ‘transfer domain payment’ I bought before, since the Starter plan included 1 year free domain.

    Thank you.

    WP.com: Yes
    Jetpack: No
    Correct account: Yes

This error typically indicates that the server understands the request, but it refuses to authorize it.

Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

    1. Check File Permissions: Ensure that the files and directories on your server have the correct permissions. Permissions should typically be set to 644 for files and 755 for directories. Incorrect permissions can sometimes trigger a 403 error.
    2. Review .htaccess File: If you’re using an Apache server, check your website’s .htaccess file for any rules that might be blocking access. Sometimes, misconfigured .htaccess files can lead to 403 errors.
    3. Review Security Plugins: If you have any security plugins installed on your WordPress site, they might be blocking access. Temporarily disable any security plugins and see if that resolves the issue.
    4. Contact Support: If you’re unable to resolve the issue on your own, reach out to the support team for assistance. They’ll be able to investigate further and help you troubleshoot the problem.

Regarding the refund for your transfer domain payment, since the Starter plan includes one year of free domain registration, you should be eligible for a refund for any domain transfer payment made prior to purchasing the plan. You’ll need to contact support and provide details about the domain transfer payment you made, and they should be able to assist you with processing the refund.

I hope this helps, and that you’re able to resolve the issue with your website quickly. If you have any further questions or need assistance, feel free to ask.

I do see that you have this domain set as the primary site address for your site. However, the domain is pointed away from WordPress.com with A records. As a result, the domain will not load your WordPress.com site, and the site itself will behave oddly, likely including that 403 Forbidden error you’re seeing.

To fix this, please go to Upgrades → Domains (升級→網域) in the left sidebar of your site dashboard and click on the domain name.

On the next screen, expand the DNS Records (DNS 記錄) tab and click Manage (管理). This will load the DNS management screen.

On this screen, look for the three dots in the upper right corner, next to the Import BIND file (匯入 BIND 檔案) button. Click the three dots and select Restore default A records (恢復預設 A 記錄). This will remove the A records pointing the domain away from WordPress.com, and redirect the domain back to your site.

DNS changes can take up to 72 hours to propagate, though they usually happen much faster. Once propagation has completed, your domain should work as expected.

I hope this helps! I’ll follow up with you by email about the domain transfer.
