Website speed

Hi. I have a custom tool built in my wordpress website. It is a single page website with very less data. But the pagespeed is 3.9 seconds. Can anybody guide if there are any external files which are affecting the speed or how can I troubleshoot the issue. Below is the website link

    Threads Video Downloader

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Here are the speed results. I have also installed wp rocket. Page size is only 95 kb with 4 Http requests in pagespeeed insights. According to this, the speed should be less than a second
  • Hi there,

Apologies, but we can’t help with your issue directly because we don’t host threads-downloader.net on our WordPress.com managed hosting.

To explain, we are a fully managed hosting provider and use a custom server environment that is optimized for WordPress, provides built-in security and performance improvements, as well as in-house support for your site questions. You can learn more about the performance and security benefits of our managed hosting here: https://wordpress.com/hosting/

Because of the way we’ve optimized our service, we also use a customized version of WordPress that is different (under the hood) from what you use at your current provider. As a result, we do not have access to your site and are not familiar with the source of your issue.

You definitely have the option to move your site to us so we can provide in-house help, and we offer a migration plugin that will help you move your site to our managed hosting in just a few clicks.

    Import using Move to WordPress.com

The Move to WordPress.com plugin allows you to start migrating a self-hosted WordPress site to WordPress.com directly from the self-hosted site. Prerequisites The Move to WordPress.com plugin installed on your self-hosted WordPress site. All incompatible plugins deactivated on the self-hosted site. ✅ There is no need to create a site on WordPress.com before you get star

Unfortunately though, as it stands now, we are not able to help since it is hosted elsewhere. The good news is that help is available here at the open-source WordPress forums: https://wordpress.org/support/forum/how-to-and-troubleshooting

The folks in that forum are more familiar with these kinds of issues and are in the best position to help.

    Thanks!

Oh. I didn’t know that wordpress has a different version. So will my website speed get improve if I transfer my website to wordpress.com. If yes, then where can I find documentation to transfer my website. Thanks

  • Hi @zahid2iqbal, our services do include quite a few optimizations by default, and you’ll have access to support if you need more help.

Quick question: is the custom tool built within WordPress, or are you using code outside WordPress on the server? I’d just want to be sure it would import properly here, since we import WordPress content, as well as WordPress themes and plugins if you use the full site importer. We have more details here:

No matter where your site is now, you can move it to WordPress.com. This page will help you find the steps to take to migrate a site to WordPress.com. If you know what kind of site you’d like to import, click the menu option to the right to jump to that section. Okay. I will contact support. By the way, tool is built with a custom wordpress plugin

Hi. No, it’s not built with any wordpress plugin. The answer given by the lady above is incorrect. Actually, I am scraping results from a third party website and showing them in wordpress page. So I think this wouldn’t be an issue in wordpress.com

  • Thanks @zahid2iqbal. I wonder if @rahbarfa meant to reply to some other thread.

I’d recommend giving the transfer process a go, then see how the site runs here. If it doesn’t have code that’s on your server but outside WordPress, it should be okay. Also, while your setup doesn’t sound like it applies, I want to note there are some restrictions on certain scraping plugins. We have more details here.

Let us know if you need help getting the import going!
