Hi, I’ve asked this before and I can’t seem to get a straight answer, so I thought I’d try again! I currently have two websites and I would like to switch the domain names/urls but keep the content I have on it currently. Help!

What is the exact URL starting with http:// of the wordpress.COM hosted site(s) you refer to please?
And, exactly which wordpress.COM username account registered each site?
This is wordpress.COM support. I’m asking because we cannot accurately answer questions posted here until we have confirmed the URL referred to and verified the hosting.

I may have asked on my other url which is whereismywarpaint.wordpress.com .
The url’s I would like to switch are that of: https://jessicamaxineselby.wordpress.com and https://whereismywarpaint.wordpress.com
They both belong to me, I just wish to make the former now my professional website, and the latter my blog instead.

You can create an XML export file and then import it.

It seems the be the right thing but when I try import the .XML exported file into the other blog it says “missing required body data”. I checked the pages given and their offshoots with no luck :/ -

They both belong to me, I just wish to make the former now my professional website, and the latter my blog instead.
I’d advise against this. It’s can be an arduous task, and you’ll lose search engine rank for both sites.
If you must proceed anyway, I recommend creating a third site for temporary purposes. Then you would:
Export from site A, import into Temp. Make sure all of the images transfer over.
Empty site A.
Export site B, then import into the now-empty site A. Make sure all of the images transfer over. Go through the posts to make sure all of your links are updated as well.
Empty site B.
Export from Temp and import into the now-empty site B. Make sure all of the images transfer properly, then go through the posts to make sure your links are updated as well.
But even with all of that, existing links to either site (from outside sites like Google or Facebook) will be broken.
If you just want to change names, I strongly recommend picking up custom domains for each site, since custom domains don’t require all of the import / export / link changing, and any links from outside sites will be redirected.

If you decide to go with this route after all, this sounds like the XML file was corrupted somehow. If you’ll make a fresh export that should fix it.

How about this,
I barely have any information on wheresmywarpaint.wordpress.com so would I be able to erase whatever is on it and just export/import the posts from jessicamaxineselby.wordpress.com to it instead or getting a third domain and doing the whole complicated shindig above?
Or would it really make no difference at all?
I have posts, followers, and views on jessicamaxine I would like to keep but just move them on the warpaint page. -
You’re welcome to do that, too. Your export file includes pages and posts, just not media. So you could import that, even with the smaller site emptied first. You would just need to re-upload any images and media files, and fix them in each post.
