Website Theme Deleted by Accident?

  Hi,

  My client hired a WP neophyte to make some changes to his site. In the process, the person ran a WordPress update. When he check the website afterwards, his (very custom) theme had vanished.

  Can someone explain how this could have happened?

  We are unable to assist any blogger who fails to provide an active URL starting with http:// so we can click it and examine whatever is going on. Please provide the URL so we can get started.

  I would think overwriting a theme just from running an update is not a common problem. Maybe he named the theme the same as one of the default themes?

  Go to the footer of that theme and click the “powered by WordPress” link please.

  About 30% of those who post here some days dare actually posting to the wrong support forum. We even have a robotic program to apprehend them in advance. That’s why when you create a thread you are asked to specify the URL. ie: Select the blog you need help with:
