Website title does not show on home page

  I’m using the site template WPspirit-01. At the top of my home page, instead of my title (which I’ve put in every which way), only the titles of my loaded posts are showing. I do not want them there, I want the title. Also, below that is supposed to be the slideshow, but there is no mechanism for clicking this space, and when I found a plug-in and loaded my photos into it, I’m still unable to find instructions. I’m a small, simple user, not familiar with code, and am disappointed that this is so complex. WordPress really made it sound simpler for someone like me. Any clear help appreciated.

  For which website? I’m not seeing any sites attached to the WordPress.com user account you’ve posted from.
