Website to WP archive links in Google

On our website we have five years worth of archive stories that we don’t want to lose the links to. We have copied all those stories over to our WP site. Is there anything we can do to maintain them in Google search once we redirect our website to our WP blog?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

It sounds like you’re moving from WordPress.com to a self-hosted site. Is that correct?

If so, you may experience a temporary drop in Google rankings while your new site is indexed. Your WordPress.com blog posts will still appear higher in search rankings until your new self-hosted site starts to attract viewers, shares, etc.

You may want to setup a redirect from your WordPress.com site to your new self-hosted blog. That way, readers will automatically be redirected to your new site and Google will start to recognize your new site sooner. To do that, you’ll want to make sure the permalinks for your new self-hosted site are set to “Day and name” under Settings -> Permalinks. Then, you can purchase the Site Redirect upgrade here:

    Redirect a WordPress.com Site Address

Does that make sense? Let me know if you have any questions about the process of setting that up!
