  please i want to transfer my self hosted website to WordPress.com and would like to know how much it would cost me because cant do it my self

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi newsghana101,

  Are you using WordPress.org software for your current self-hosted site? The site referenced here (newsghanacomgh.wordpress.com) is a WordPress.com site. If you provide me with the domain you’re interested in moving I’m happy to check it out for you.

  If you are moving your site from WordPress.org to WordPress.com, you first need to export your self-hosted WordPress.org site by going to Tools → Export and download the .xml (WXR) file to your computer.

  In your new WordPress.com user account, import the .xml file into your WordPress.com site by going to My Site → Settings and select Import from the Site Tools section at the bottom.

  Once you’ve moved all your content over, you can connect your domain name from your old site to your new WordPress.com site with Domain Mapping.

  If you already own a domain and would like to use it here on WordPress.com, you will need to purchase a paid plan. Depending on the features you need, you can choose from the Personal, Premium or Business plan:

  Each plan includes one domain credit which can be used to for domain mapping (or to register a new domain).

  Do you already have an .xml file of the content you would like to import into WordPress.com? If so, I can follow up with you by email so you can send me a copy of the file. I’ll ask our developers to take a look and let me know if it will be possible.

  Another thing I wanted to mention is that your current theme isn’t compatible with WordPress.com so you won’t be able to transfer it. Instead, you would need to choose a new theme from our Theme Showcase.

  Let me know about the .xml file and we’ll go from there.

  i dont have .xml file and dont know how to create it, if i have to changes to my theme no problem.
