  Hi there,
  Im taking over my businesses website and domain from a company I paid to get it off the ground for me. They also used WordPress. How do we go about transferring the whole website and domain to my account?

  Hi @arthurspost,

  Before transferring the self-hosted website to Wordress.com, registration with WordPress.com is a must. It comes with a URL like [xyz].wordrpess.com. This URL doesn’t need to match with the domain you want to map or transfer.

  Besides, there are three ways to add a custom domain name. Register, map and transfer.
  If you already own a domain name purchased somewhere else., you can map or transfer the domain to WordPress.com..

  If you want to migrate the self-hosted WordPress.org to WordPress.com, you need to have WordPress.com business plan or higher.

  WordPress.com does not provide an email service for blogs on their sub domains or on custom domains. Please see these support docs
