website transfer
-
Hi, I’m new to wordpress and I transferred my domain which I had registered with namecheap to wordpress. After transferring, I realized that I cannot transfer a website younger than 60 days.
So, my question is, if it cannot be transferred at this time, do I have to try again after 60 days is complete? And also, if I make changes to the temporary address provided by wp, and after 60 days the transfer does occur, will the changes I make to the website now be applied to the transferred domain as well?
Also, will there be extra charges later on during the transfer process?WP.com: Yes
Correct account: YesThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello –
No worries, I can help you sort this out. First thing, you’ll want to pick a hosting plan for the project. Once that’s been added to the account you can proceed with connecting the domain.
There are 2 different ways to connect a domain. One option, is a transfer like you’ve mentioned. The other option is to point the domain to us through DNS changes. That process is outlined here on this page: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/connect-existing-domain/
You can connect the domain through these DNS changes and transfer it to us later on once it is old enough. That’s not a problem.
Are you able to share more details with us about the project? Specifically, I’m curious about the functionality you need, and the goals that you have. That information will help us provide you with specialized instructions and plans to reach those goals.
The plans can be upgraded/downgraded at any point to meet the needs of the project. You can get started with the personal option to make that domain connection.
