Website Transfer Failed

  Hello, back in May of this year I tried to swap ownership of a website with a coworker, and got a confirmation email to change ownership, but the site has never appeared within my wordpress profile for editing. The email from (email visible only to moderators and staff) is pasted below:

  We recently received a request to change the email address for the WordPress.com user plaindealing from (email visible only to moderators and staff) to (email visible only to moderators and staff).

  Hi,

  Just to clarify, are you trying to switch ownership of a WordPress.com site from one WordPress.com user account to another? Or are you trying to change the email address of a WordPress.com from an old to a new address?

  Unfortunately I’m not understanding the distinction between those two options that you’ve described, probably because I’m not very familiar with WordPress. I have created an account with the email address that my coworker (in my understanding) attempted to transfer ownership to.

  I am unable to make modifications to the site and need to.

  Switch ownership = transfer a WordPress.com site from User 1 to User 2

  Change email = change the email address on file for User 1 from Email 1 to Email 2

  What was done four months ago was a change email request that was never completed, based on the email you provided.

  However, since your nicholascastille user account is already using the (email visible only to moderators and staff) email, there’s no way to complete the email change as two accounts can’t share the same email address.

  So what will need to happen now is the plaindealing user needs to log in and follow the steps here to switch ownership of the site plaindealingpublicmeeting.wordpress.com to your nicholascastille account.

  This is not something WordPress.com Staff can do for you.

  Wow. Would you look at that. I didn’t realize the website was associated with the user name Plain Dealing. My apologies for the trouble. I appreciate the help!
