Website update matter – Admin login details missing

    My name is Mélissa, I am Project Assistant at AK Language Services Inc, a translation agency based id Toronto. Here is our matter :

    We have asked a webmaster to update our website because some pages were not showing (19 pages in total with an error message). But he told me he could not do anything without the admin login details such as WordPress Administrator userame and password.
    We asked then our first webmaster (the creator actually, with whom we don’t want to work anymore) to provide us the admin details he possesses but claims he does not have anything and told us we need to upgrade our outdated software to fix this matter with the pages not visible.
    I also asked his opinion to Joel, my contact at WordPress support, and he told me we could not do succeed any update without the admin details and the hosting details, since our website is not hosted by WordPress but self-hosted.

    Now my questions are ;

    – Who is supposed to have the admin login details we need ?
    – Is it possible that our fist webmaster and creator of the website didn’t have it whereas he is listed as the administrator of the website ?
    – Is it possible to reset these login details ?

    What is the exact URL of the site you refer to?

    We provide support here only for WordPress.COM hosted blogs.
    We do not provide support for WordPress.ORG software installs.

    WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums.
