Website Verification not working

  Hi I am trying to verify my site following the instructions here https://en.support.wordpress.com/webmaster-tools/

  But when I get the meta tag and copy it into WordPress Tools section and click Save Changes, nothing is actually saving. I have tried both Google and Pinterest and can’t get either to work.

  Any advice?

  Thanks @thehoundinc . This site is actually a WordPress.org installation rather than a site hosted here with us (more info here). So it’s going to be a little different from our documentation and what not.

  My guess is that you are using a plugin for verification. If you know which one, head over to wordpress.org and find its plugin forum. You can post there to see what they recommend. Or, you could try a different plugin that does the same thing.

  If you’re using Jetpack, it seems you need to use the very similar verification page under Jetpack->Settings->Traffic.
