Website Will not Appear in Google Search or Knowledge Panel

My website (www.jonathanstrassfeld.com) does not appear in google searches. It used to be the first result, but I accidentally allowed the domain (hosted by hostgator) to expire in June 2022. Since renewing the domain in September 2022 it has not appeared in google results for the search ‘Jonathan Strassfeld’ whatsoever – I don’t mean that it isn’t listed on the first page of results, it doesn’t appear anywhere. By contrast, it is the first result when I search for ‘Jonathan Strassfeld’ with Bing or Yahoo.

Since renewing the domain I have submitted a new sitemap, I have checked for manual actions (none) and to see whether any security issues have been reported (it has not), and I have had Google recrawl my site. I have verified that the site is indexed by Google. However, searching for ‘Jonathan Strassfeld’ does not turn up my site.

Moreover, I recently claimed the knowledge panel for ‘Jonathan Strassfeld’ and submitted a request for my website to be added to it. On October 11, I received an email from Google saying that the request had been approved. However, eight days later, the website still does not appear on my knowledge panel.

I am really at a loss for what to do. I can diagnose no problems with my site – yet even when Google says it will be added to the knowledge panel, it doesn’t appear. What is going on and how can I fix it?

We can’t be much of a help regarding ranking in search engines. Googling “site:www.jonathanstrassfeld.com” shows all 8 pages of your site have been indexed.

Best is to contact Google support.

Is there such a thing as Google support? I haven’t been able to find anyone to contact.

Have you tried submitted your site to Google Search Console(GSC)?https://search.google.com/search-console/about – once you have, you can check individual URLs and their indexing status. GSC will give lots of feedback on potential issues. You can also request that pages are re-indexed.

I hope this helps. Good luck.

Hi Jonathan, as others have mentioned – the pages are in the index. You can see that by using the site: prefix in the search toolbar. The site and pages don’t have much authority, though.
How long ago did you resubmit the site to Google Search Console?
