Website working, but admin page is showing up as error

    I purchased a website theme on Etsy last year and recently tried to log in to edit my website for the first time in months. The website appears to be functioning normally but when I go mywebsitesurl/wp-admin to edit the pages “this page isn’t working, website is currently unable to handle this request. HTTP ERROR 500” shows up. The person who designed the theme (which included hosting) has removed themselves from the internet, could it be something on their end that is causing this issue? Am I able to fix this not having access to the hosting platform?

    You’ve posted to the free support forums for websites hosted here at WordPress.com. Since your site is not hosted with us, we’re limited in what we can help with and advise. But I can get you pointed in the right direction to get help.

    Most likely not. I would recommend trying to get in touch with that person to get more information or to provide you a backup of your site so you can set it up with a new hosting provider.
