I am starting a website where I’d like to have ads available because I plan on having ad revenue. I purchased the Premium plan and it says I don’t have ads showing on my site. Please help…I’m new to this!

The only type of ads you can use here at WordPress.com are through the WordAds program. You would need to apply for WordAds .
There is no third party advertising allowed, as outlined here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/advertising/
You will need to have a high amount of traffic to your site in order to qualify for WordAds. Here’s how you can increase traffic: https://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-more-views-and-traffic/
