  Where do I go on your site to build a website – not a blog. thank you.

  The same tools and raw materials: post and page editors, Customize page, widgets, headers, menus, etc. are used to construct a “website” as are used to construct a “blog.” A blog is a website. You needn’t create any posts on your website, and may set the front page to display a static page as described in the Set a Static “Home” Page (Front Page) support page. If you do so, assign another page to display posts, even if you don’t create any.

  You can use ‘Add Pages’ > ‘New’ (in the classic editor!) to create a new page, rather than a blog. You can create a blog with a static/sticky page but this is not the same as a standard page in the way the tags/comments and social integration works.
