Weebly DNS Record Change

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello,
I am STUCK and am unable to figure out how to update my DNS Records to use a domain that I purchased through WordPress for a site built on Weebly. Weebly support has told me “You have to make sure that your domain’s “www” and “*” and “@” A-Records are pointed to our 199.34.228.100″
However, I can’t seem to format that correctly through the WordPress DNS manager. I have only ever edited DNS records in GoDaddy and am not a traditional web developer.

  • Hi Steve,

Which of your domains are you trying to transfer? I see a few that have expired.

The way that Weebly wants you to do this isn’t optimal for our system, so I instead recommend that you transfer your domain out to a full-service registrar, such as GoDaddy. It will be much easier for you to manage your domain with your Weebly site from there.

You can transfer your domain by following these instructions:

Transfer a Domain to Another Registrar

If you have any trouble, please let me know which step you’re getting stuck at, and what happens when you try to follow it. I’ll be happy to help you out! :)
