Weird click
-
I received a stat that visitor had clicked this link on my blog: http://dachniy-uchastok.ru/kak-vyrastit-kartofel-poleznee . It’s a site I did not link to. Not sure what it is as it’s in foreign language (Russian?), but the photos/graphics on the site (blog?) show it is not something I linked to, though it seems related to my most recent post.
How could this be? What can I do to prevent? Should I be concerned?

It happened again today at http://peoplingplaces.wordpress.com, not that you can see it. I removed my top clicks widget until this is resolved, so others would not click on this strange (to me) site.
Not sure how to include a screenshot here, so I’ve temporarily uploaded one, so you can see; it’s the second to the last link shown: http://peoplingplaces.wordpress.com/files/2009/08/weird-click.jpg .

I had the same thing happen on my blog. The past two days on the stats page, under the clicks area, the same link to a Russian website appears. If I put the website into the search bar, nothing comes up.

@ peoplingplaces, it’s entirely possible that the link showed up in the Adsense that WordPress.com sometimes runs on our sites. Adsense picks up on content and displays ads from sites it thinks are related.
@ambersblog, the site linked to your name is not a WordPress.com site and we won’t be able to help you with that.
