Weird code added to posts
-
Every time I edit and save a draft, lines of code get added to the bottom. Sometimes up to 10 x of the same. They only show in the html view, I can delete them, but they come back. I just wondered what they are and why?
<span style=”border-radius:2px;text-indent:20px;width:auto;padding:0 4px 0 0;text-align:center;font:bold 11px/20px ‘Helvetica Neue’, Helvetica, sans-serif;color:#ffffff;background:#bd081c no-repeat scroll 3px 50% / 14px 14px;position:absolute;opacity:1;z-index:8675309;display:none;cursor:pointer;”>Save
(I hope the pasted html code shows in this post or I’ll try it differently)

I had a brainfart and counted the number of repetitions in my latest published blog post. I notice that it appears at the bottom of posts as soon as I have clicked in the wysiwyg field to add content.
The number of repetitions was the same as the number of images in the post (11). I deleted, repeated, same. Other posts have fewer code repeats, fewer images!
I then disabled the Pinterest browser button that I have installed in Firefox, restarted. Lo and behold, no extra code. So they must be using it for pinning purposes.
This is a new issue, a few weeks I think. So I’d still like to know if WP is concerned about third parties inserting text into their blog posts. This is annoying, but harmless, but it could become worse?
I only found this because I occasionally edit in html mode to make sure an image is placed correctly corresponding to text for instance.
