Weird Comments

  I have my comments set up so that I have to approve everything before it shows up. I have been getting weird comments in my spam from someone using the same name (and a few times they used the same website) and they often post the same things: ‘Wow your blog is awesome, best I’ve ever read.’ which is nice but I think it is a scam. Also, their IP address is always different.

  Is there any way to report comments to WordPress or akismet?

  If it’s showing up in your spam folder then Akismet is doing it’s job if the comment is showing up on the main dashboard under comments then I suggest marking the comment as spam.

  @mybreakfastclub, do not spam the forums. You risk getting banned from the forums. If you want to pimp your blog, do it in the off topic forum or the new showcase forum, not in the main forum pages.

  Also it is a spam failure:
  no link to your blog!
  Who is going to bother looking?

  Check out the yellow sticky posts at the top of the forum. There is even information in them about how to link your name to your blog!

  But even if you do that, spamming the forums is not wise…
