Weird "follow" icons showing up
-
There’s a thing at the top right corner displayed above my blog header that looks sort of like a stylized megaphone – a dot with two curves
Then at the bottom of the page there’s one of those stupid Java overlay thingies that has a + and the word “Follow”
As far as I can tell these are not anything I put there – is there a way to get rid of them? I have links for RSS feeds or following by e-mail – what are these things and how can I exert some control over them?
Plus, I thought Java was banned on this site – that “follow” tab is java ….
Any help would be appreciated …
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Followup – OK I got rid of the “Follow” tab in the lower left corner – but I still haven’t found the thing in the upper right hand corner….

Dang it won’t let me edit my posts …
the Follow tab was in the lower RIGHT hand corner
The thing I don’t know what it is that says “feeds” when you hover over it is in the upper LEFT hand corner…
Can’t tell my left from my right, SORRY, LOL!

The thing is the standard RSS icon: it’s a built-in link to your posts feed. You can disable it in Appearance > Theme Options.

OK the feeds thing seems to be gone – on the other hand maybe it only shows up when you’re not logged in like the “follow” tab. That thing is fugly! I already have a widget at the side, I don’t need that thing hovering up at the top.
I don’t suppose there’s any way to get the “follow” function without having that tab? I’m assuming it does something different than the “follow by e-mail” widget.
I’d like the functionality but personally I find those things that pop up at the bottoms and sides and whatnot of your browser window extremely annoying and I’d rather not use them. They nearly always end up obscuring content, and I don’t need them hovering around 24/7 while I’m doing other things. A widget is much preferable, or some static link that performs the same function.
