Weird links problem

I have a Word Press blog, Snowflakes in a Blizzard (snowflakesarise.wordpress.com) that offers free book marketing service to authors. Each week, I feature three books, based on a template filled out by the authors. In order for visitors to the site to find this information more easily after the fact, I’ve set up a list of author names (the Author page) linked to these posts. Click on a name, and the post featuring their book appears — except that in four out of 100, it doesn’t. Here’s the weird part — I sent an e-mail to one of these authors that included the link (a shortlink). When she clicked on it, she got “file not found.” When I clicked on it, out of her e-mail, the post appeared. If the link was bad, why am I able to summon it up? I’d appreciate any help — and this is so important to me that I would gladly barter some free editing for a solution. My e-mail is (email visible only to moderators and staff).

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Commonly this issue is due to the status of the post. Have you checked if it’s “published”?

If you have are still having this issue, can you please send a sample link?

    Dear Draski:

Thanks for the prompt response. The first two links are from two of my problem children. The third is from a post that seems to work.

Since all those posts are in published status, try the links without using the shortener to see if they work.

If the I unshortened links still aren’t working, have you at some point changed your permalinks settings? If so then you’ll need to check if those posts’ links were correctly updated.
