Weird red X’s enclosed in blue borders on the front page of my blog
-
For some unknown reason, the formatting of my blog seriousnews.wordpress.com is corrupted. The top half of the front page is dotted with weird red X’s enclosed in blue borders. I’ve checked the formatting of all my entries and they are fine, and I did not modify the CSS style of my chosen theme.
What might be the cause of this problem? What solution is there? Thanks in advance for your replies!

It looks like the page is trying to use an image at http://www.dictionarytip.com/skin/book.png and isn’t finding it. Its also setting the border of the image to “1px solid blue”. That would account for the red X / blue border effect.
To solve it, either remove the <img> tags from your posts, or fix the image link problem (either by putting the image back where it’s expected or by changing the URL in the links).

They seem to be part of your 2nd post (Chee) which appears to have been copy/pasted from somewhere else on line. Try editing that post, either using the cleanup code icon (the little broom) or copying everything to a plain text editor, such as notepad, and then copy/pasting that into your post.

Thanks for the replies, that helped! It appears that an extension I have on Firefox is the cause of the problem – and because I use visual mode instead of html, I didn’t catch the stray code.
